At first I thought - what's the point - but it is the social networking aspect and the recording ability that astounds me when you think about it. You can play your ocarina on your iPhone and connect with other players and listeners across the world. Web 2.0 technologies put to interesting use.  And then you can start an orchestra, and link with other musicians in real time - face-to-face and/or at a distance.
